The Primary ICT Accreditation Scheme is a voluntary scheme for pupils at Key Stages 1 and 2. It provided St. Malachy's with a framework to develop, enhance and assess pupils' ICT skills.
At the end of key stage 2, pupils at St. Malachy's were awarded with a certificate detailing their level of ICT competence. CCEA also accredited St. Malachy's primary school for being able to effectively assess using the ICT Levels of Progression.
CCEA encourages schools to get involved in this scheme in anticipation of the statutory requirement to assess ICT from 2013/14 onwards. The scheme has allowed St. Malachy's to develop an understanding of the Levels of Progression for Using ICT tasks prior to their statutory use.
